Soup & Sermon | Lent 2025

A community Lenten engagement.
You're invited to join us for Fayetteville's Soup & Sermon Series 2025, a special Lenten event designed to nourish both body and spirit. Each Tuesday during Lent, we will gather from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM for thoughtful reflections on scripture, followed by a time of fellowship around the table with a warm bowl of soup. This year, we will rotate and meet at three welcoming locations: Central UMC, St. Paul's Episcopal, and First Christian Church. It's a wonderful opportunity to connect, reflect, and grow together in faith during this season of Lent. We look forward to seeing you there!

WHAT is "Central@"

As we step into the heart of 2025, CENTRAL@ represents a new chapter in Central United Methodist Church’s ongoing commitment to serve and engage with our community in meaningful, lasting ways. Evolving from our former one-day service event—Central Serves (previously known as Beyond Our Walls)—CENTRAL@ is a more dynamic, year-round approach to outreach and connection.

The “@” symbolizes action and presence—whether it's @ schools, @ neighborhoods, @ shelters@ community centers, @ local non-profit organizations—wherever we are called to bring Christ’s love to life.

This shift allows us to build on existing partnerships, respond more nimbly to community needs, and provide multiple service opportunities throughout the year. As part of this transition, we’re working with local partner organizations to coordinate Fall and Spring service dates, which will be promoted regularly—so stay tuned!

Already involved in a community effort or have a new idea for service? We’d love to hear from you. Whether through CENTRAL@ or another meaningful initiative, we’re here to amplify your passion, support your team, and help you serve more effectively.

And don’t forget to order your CENTRAL@ shirt to wear while engaging in your events—it’s a great way to represent our church and share our mission out in the community!

Mission of Central UMC
At Central, our mission is:
"To ignite and empower our community to experience and share the love of Christ."

CENTRAL@ is one way we live that mission—by stepping out in faith, partnering with our neighbors, and putting love into action.

For more information or to get involved with a project or team, please reach out to the church office. Let’s continue to be the hands and feet of Christ in Northwest Arkansas—together.
