The award is given to recognize youth who demonstrate a passion for serving others in the name of Jesus Christ. Award recipients are active members of a local congregation and serve others in and through the ministry of that church. The youth should have a servant heart in all of his/her relationships, demonstrating love of God and love of neighbor. Consideration is given to students who have participated in OMP and other mission trips/outreaches.
This year’s Bruner award winner is Rachel Pohl, of Central United Methodist Church Fayetteville.
Rachel has attended five OMP camps, her first the summer after her 7th grade year. Aside from OMP, Rachel has served on mission trips to Joplin (tornado relief), Denver (urban poverty ministry), and Mexico (housebuilding) through Central’s Student Ministries. Rachel has been active in her church, and has been an integral part of her youth group. She has helped serve meals at Central, and most recently, she has been a part of the Middle School Ministry leadership team where she has lead a small group Bible study for young girls.
Rachel received a plaque and a gift will be made in her honor to Ozark Mission Project from proceeds of the Allan Bruner Memorial Fund. She was recognized during the 10:45am contemporary worship service on June 28, 2015.
Join us in congratulating Rachel on her awesome achievement!
