Q. If we want to help people get out of debt, why does Central accept credit card donations?
A. Used within parameters, debit and credit cards can be an efficient tool for payments and purchases. Many people utilize them in place of checks or cash throughout the month, then pay off the balance in full at the end of the month. For these people, we offer the option of using a debit or credit card for giving. We strongly discourage those who have ongoing credit card debt from exercising this option.

Q. How should I tithe if my income varies from pay period to pay period?
A. Depending on which is more feasible for your situation, you can handle tithing with a fluctuating income in a couple of different ways. Some people choose to give exactly one tenth of their earnings for each pay period. Others estimate their total earnings for the year and give a portion of the total tithe each week or month throughout the year.

Q. Should I tithe off my gross earnings or the net amount of my paycheck?
A. Scripture doesn’t use the literal terms “gross” or “net”. It is more important to note that the spirit in which we give is of greatest value to God. In II Corinthians 9 we read “Each one of you must give as you have made up your mind to give; not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

Q. Can I review my donation history online?
A. Yes. The site will allow you to view the history of your online contributions for several months. (Please note the donations you make with a check or in cash will not be reflected on this record; therefore, the online history screen should not be used for tax purposes).

Q. Will I still receive regular quarterly contribution statements from the church?
A. Yes. The church will continue to send contribution statements to you by mail or email for tax purposes. If you are not signed up to receive your contribution statements by email and would like to do so, please email Julia Thorn at

Q. When will the debit card contributions be taken from my account?
A. Contributions will be taken from your specified bank account within 48 business hours of the date you requested. This time frame allows time for the contribution to process through your bank and the church’s bank. If the date of your contribution falls on a weekend or holiday, the transaction will be initiated on the next banking day.

Q. How do I participate in the weekly offering if my contribution is automatically processed online?
A. You can still participate in the offering during the service by reflecting on the message of the song or media that is being presented during the offering time.
