A New Season is Upon Us

Posted by Pam Cross on

We have a saying around Central that you may have heard a time or two. It is "Making Christ Central to Life." What does this really mean?

Mark 16:15 tells us to "Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation." Well, there is no better place to start sharing the gospel then in our own families, with co-workers, and in our own community circle. So what does this look like?

Reaching out, coming together, and bringing Christ into everything we do. Sharing the hope found only in Jesus Christ.

"Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ so that—whether I come and see you or whether I remain absent—I should hear that you are standing in one spirit, by contending together with one mind for the faith of the gospel..." Philippians 1: 27.

This is the cultural change we need to see. Shifting our perception that one hour on Sunday is enough for Him when we know that He should be a part of our every day. And, our way of life. If we keep Christ central in our lives we will be focused on being the church He has called us to be. A church that prays together, laughs together, cries together, forgives together, learns together, and worships together will become the Body of Christ that can move a nation.

A new season is upon us. Let's start it off right as one church, coming together. Join us Sunday August 16, at 9:30 for Central's first ever Open House. In place of our 9:30 Contemporary service we are opening the campus for a time of fellowship. Bring your friends and neighbors, all are welcome! We will be serving breakfast in various locations across campus. Central volunteers and staff will be available to help you register for fall classes. It's time to get involved in ministries, outreach, and learn about upcoming events.

If you have children age 3 through 6th grade stop by the Education Building to meet their teachers and tour the facility. Do you have Jr. or Sr. High students? Then you won't want to miss this opportunity to visit with the Central Student Ministries team and learn about all their new programming this fall. Yes, everything is new and exciting and we don't want your student to miss out.

Are you interested in learning about areas of service? Then stop by the Activities Center and visit with Greg Gibson, our Pastor of Missions. He can tell you all about the Amazon, Uganda, and local outreach needs. And don't forget to look for our pastors who are eager to spend time getting to know you and your family.

There's more! Please stay for one of our spirit-filled 10:45 services and let's join together as we pray for our students and teachers with the "Blessing of the Backpacks" commissioning. We want to pack the seats and let our children know that God is with them every day.
