Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered program that helps us deal with life’s “hurts, habits, and hangups.” The purpose of Celebrate Recovery is to celebrate God’s healing power in our lives through the eight recovery principles found in the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:1-11) and the Christ-centered 12 steps.
Central is proud to offer this program on Thursday evenings on the second floor of the Student Ministries Building, located at 19 W. Lafayette Street, on the corner of Lafayette and Highland Avenue. Each week, the schedule is as follows:
- 5:00 - Snack Supper (Suggested donation of $4/adults and $2/children 12 and under)
- 6:00 - Worship (Including either a testimony or a lesson on the 12 steps/8 principles)
- 7:00 - Open Share Groups (Gender and Issue Specific)
- 8:00 - Afterglow (Dessert and Fellowship)
As adults are meeting, the children participate in Celebration Place (CR for kids) and have a time of recreation that follows. Childcare is free and available from 5:45-8:00 p.m.
Another component to the Celebrate Recovery program is the weekly Step Study. These gender-specific groups meet each week to go deeper into the 12 steps and 8 recovery principles. New Step Study groups are regularly forming, both at Central, and through other Celebrate Recovery groups in Northwest Arkansas.
COMING SOON! The Landing for Teens
Adults aren’t the only ones with “hurts, habits, and hang-ups.” Everyone has them. Enter The Landing, a youth version of CR for students in grades 7-12.
